Find people to follow and explore the Feed, Discovery & Public Gallery
Primfeed gives you three places to discover Second Life content: your Feed (with Following and Discovery tabs), and the Public Gallery on the homepage where residents submit their best pictures for the most reach. Following someone adds their posts to your Following feed, and you can follow both residents and stores. This guide walks you through each space and shows you how to find people and start following them.

When your account is brand new, your Following feed will look empty, with the message "Nothing in your feed yet." That's normal: it fills up as soon as you start following people. Until then, Discovery and the Public Gallery are the best places to look around.
Browse your Feed: Following vs Discovery
Open the Feed page from the topbar. At the top you'll see two tabs:
Following: posts only from the residents and stores you follow, shown newest first.
Discovery: a wider pool of posts from across Primfeed, also shown newest first.
Both tabs share an Includes filter (top-right dropdown) so you can narrow what you see:
media and text
text only
pictures only
videos only
Tip: Discovery is ordered by date, newest first. It isn't a personalized "for you" ranking. So if you want to keep seeing someone's work, follow them and they'll land in your Following feed.
Explore the Public Gallery
The Public Gallery is a curated, homepage-level showcase where residents submit their best pictures to reach the widest audience. It's a great place to discover new creators or residents when your own feed is still quiet.
The Gallery has its own set of filters so you can find exactly the kind of work you're after:
Community: Following, Not followed, Residents, or Commercial
Commercial content: AI or Render
Media type: Pictures or Videos
Maturity: matched to the maturity ratings you've enabled in your settings, but you can override it here.
Tip: When you spot a post you love in the Gallery, open the creator's profile and follow them. Their future posts will then show up in your Following feed.
Find a resident or store
Use the search bar at the top of the page to look someone up.
Start typing a resident's or store's name, search begins after you type 2 characters.
Results appear grouped under Users and Stores (up to 5 of each).
Click a result to open that profile.
Search matches both the avatar's legacy name and their display name. If you'd rather search for posts, press Enter (or click the "Search posts for …" link) to open the full post-search page, where you can filter by Residents, Commercial, Exact terms, maturity ratings, and more.
Tip: If you can't find someone in search, they may have turned off Show in search in their own settings. You can still reach their profile through a direct link or by finding one of their posts.
Follow someone
Once you're on a profile (or looking at a post), follow the creator to add them to your Following feed.
Open the resident's or store's profile.
Click the Follow button.
The button changes to Following, hover over it and it shows Unfollow if you ever want to stop.
A few things worth knowing:
You can follow both residents and stores. Their posts then appear in your Following tab.
There's a limit of 300 follows per 24 hours per account, so you can't mass-follow in one sitting.
Tip: Following a store is different from subscribing to it. Following adds a store's posts to your feed; the separate Subscribe button (on store profiles only) signs your in-world avatar up for that store's newsletters and updates. See Following vs subscribing to a store for the difference.
What happens next
After you follow a few people, your Following feed starts filling up automatically, newest posts first. New activity, like a new follower of your own, shows up under Notifications. And when you're ready to share your own pictures, head to the composer and consider submitting to the Public Gallery for maximum reach.
