Primfeed's Maturity Rating defines four categories to make your experience better, depending on what you want to browse in the moment.
In addition to the Terms of Service, this page will give more details, try to summarize, and give examples of why certain media are in a specific rating.
Why are there Maturity Ratings?
Each resident has their own tastes, and for a social media, it was necessary to adapt the Maturity Ratings in this context where you don't control what you're about to see.
Why does the moderation team enforce the ratings?
To make Primfeed a better social media, Primfeed decided to enforce the ratings of each media. We believe that it's important that everyone can browse Primfeed the way they like it, and proper ratings for media are the key to that.
Maturity Ratings aren't optional
If you set the wrong maturity rating for your media, moderators will correct it for you because we understand that mistakes can happen, and we prefer to make the change instead of deleting your post.
However, you can't depend on the moderators to choose the correct ratings for you. It's your responsibility as a user to choose wisely.
If we find out that you ignore the moderation notifications multiple times and keep entering the wrong maturity rating, your account may be locked.
Breakdown of Maturity Ratings differences
The Terms of Service explain the main idea for each Maturity Rating. You will find a table of more explicit content for each rating, with some examples for your media.
The General rating is suitable for all ages. It may contain mild violence, mild language, and informational or educational content. General content cannot be sexually explicit, violent, or depicts nudity nor show sexually oriented objects such as "sex beds" or poseballs.
Example
This picture is General: Even though we can see the butt, it's normal bikini and good coverage. Thin coverage would be Moderate.
The Moderate rating is for non-explicit content that is generally suitable for users over the age of eighteen (18). It may contain some violence, strong language and mildly sexual content so long as it does not promote adult content. Any content that displays nudity for a commercial purpose might be considered Moderate. As soon as the content has the purpose of provoking or promoting sexual excitation, it must be considered whether Adult or Adult+.
Examples
Strong language or profanity
Mild depictions of violence or weapons
Partial nudity or suggestive content, such as:
Lingeries (Such as dentelle)
Visible nipples or areolas
Noticeable genital bulges in clothing or pubic hair
Almost naked subject, thin clothes barely covering the parts mentioned above
All of the above, with or without pixelated parts
Any accessories that might be adult (BDSM, sextoys, etc.)
Visible genitals are only allowed for commercial content. Otherwise, it should be rated as Adult.
The commercial content must not provoke or promote sexual excitation.
This picture is Moderate because of the blood and violence representation.
The Adult rating is any content that displays nudity, even photo-realistic, expressly sexually themed for the purpose of provoking or promoting sexual excitation; violence and illicit drug use.
Examples
Promotion or depiction of adult themes
Artistic representations of sexual poses or situations
Overt depictions of violence (not extreme)
Portrayal of illicit drug use
Any genitals showing
Commercial content (e.g: skin sellers) can be Moderate, though it must not provoke or promote sexual excitation.
This picture is Adult because the model is naked and even though we don't see anything, the pose make it suggestive and adult.
The Adult+ rating is any content that represents pornography: any sexual acts including solitary pleasure, and fluids; or intensely violent acts such torture, or other severe bodily harm, whether or not photo-realistic.
Examples
Includes graphic depictions of:
Sexual acts, including masturbation
Pornographic content
Bodily fluids
Extreme violence, torture, or severe bodily harm
Explicit genital exposure
Erected penis
Direct vaginal imagery, wide open or zoomed in.
Exceptions:
Any of the above, being pixelated or hidden by dense hair (public hair or furry hair) can be considered as Adult
