Quick search: find a person or store

Use this when you already know who you're looking for and want to land on their profile.

1. Click the search bar at the top of Primfeed (placeholder text: "Search posts or users…").

2. Type at least 2 characters of an avatar's name. Results appear as you type, grouped under Users and Stores.

3. Click a result to open that profile.

Quick search matches on both the avatar name and the display name, so you'll often find someone even if their display name is different from their legacy name. It shows up to 5 users and 5 stores at a time.

Tip: If someone doesn't appear, they may have turned off "Show in search" in their settings. Their profile is hidden from search but still reachable through their profile link or their posts. (You can manage your own setting in Profile visibility and whether you appear in search.)

Search page: find posts

When you want to search the actual content of posts, not just profiles, use the Search page.

1. From the quick search, type your term and press Enter, or click "Search posts for "…"" at the top of the results. Either one opens the Search page at the Search heading.

2. On the Search page, type your term in the search bar and press Enter to run it. You need at least 2 characters.

3. Scroll through the matching posts. More load automatically as you reach the bottom of the list.

If nothing matches, you'll see "No results found": "No posts matching your search query were found. Try a different search term." Try a shorter or different term.

Narrow your results with filters

The Search page has a Filters section with toggles you can turn on and off:

• Residents - include posts from individual residents.

• Commercial - include posts tagged as commercial content.

• Exact terms - match your words exactly, instead of loosely.

• Includes - a dropdown to choose "media and text" (everything) or "text only" (posts without an image or video).

There's also a Maturity Ratings section where you can choose which ratings to include (General, Moderate, Adult, Adult+). This starts on the ratings you've enabled in your own settings, so you'll only ever see content you've opted into. Tip: Turn on "Exact terms" when a loose search returns too much noise. It's the fastest way to zero in on a specific phrase rather than every post that happens to share a word.

Quick search vs. the Search page

It's easy to mix these up, so here's the short version:

• Quick search (top bar): finds people and stores by name, and links to their profiles.

• Search page: finds posts, with filters for content type, commercial tags, and maturity.
