Primfeed is a social media platform for Second Life™ residents, it includes unique features dedicated to Second Life™ complexities and nuances.

I. Modification of terms

Primfeed may modify these Terms of Service at any time, in which case Primfeed will notify you of any changes through the platform.

II. Account Requirements

The creation of a Primfeed account is strictly reserved to Second Life™ Residents and people over the age of 18.

A Primfeed account is linked to a Second Life™ avatar. Thus, you cannot create more than one account per avatar.

You are responsible for any activity occurring under your account and should notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

You cannot use someone else's account, nor sell, transfer, or assign your account to others.

III. Intellectual Property

CLEEVEE owns the Intellectual Property rights of Primfeed and all materials associated with the Primfeed brand. Primfeed does not authorize you to make use of the Primfeed branding or marketing materials. The Primfeed brand in whole or in part, including without limitation “Primfeed” and its logo, remains the exclusive property of CLEEVEE.

CLEEVEE reserves, as the Publisher, the right to use, exploit and reproduce these elements and thus protect them against plagiarism or illegal reproduction. These are protected by Intellectual Property Law and in particular copyright.

• All information, materials, pictures and media content available on Primfeed is the property of the original publisher (unless explicitly stated by the publisher; reference below for more clarity) and is protected by intellectual property law, in particular copyright law.

• The information on the site is only available for consultation by users, unless expressly agreed otherwise in advance.

• Any use, in whole or in part, of the site or its assets, by any means whatsoever or on any medium whatsoever, for commercial or advertising purposes, is prohibited and renders the user liable.

To request permission for the usage of the Primfeed brand, you may contact Luke Rowley through notecards in-world.

1. Primfeed's Intellectual Property

• The website: Primfeed holds the intellectual property rights to:

• The Brand: This includes the platform’s name, domain name, and any slogans or catchphrases associated with the service.

• The Logo: The visual design, graphic symbol, or emblem that represents the platform is protected as a trademark.

• The Website Content: All original content created by Primfeed, such as text, graphics, user interface, and layout, is owned by the Publisher.

• Software: The underlying code, including any apps, algorithms, and functionalities developed for the platform, is the intellectual property of the Publisher.

2. End User’s Intellectual Property

• Creations: Any original content created and posted by users, such as photos, videos, and artwork, remains their property.

• Writings: Blog posts, comments, reviews, and other written materials authored by users are owned by the individuals who created them.

• If you are posting a non-original content, make sure to have the authorization to publish it on Primfeed.

3. Shared Rights and Responsibilities

While users maintain ownership of their content, by posting it on Primfeed, they grant Primfeed a license to use and display that content within the service.

However, this license does not transfer ownership; it merely allows Primfeed to operate the website effectively. While Primfeed distributes your media in very high quality, Primfeed is not a cloud storage service; files provided by Primfeed are compressed and created in different formats.

IV. Community Standards

To help promote respect, peace, and an enjoyable experience for all users, this set of Community Standards applies to all interaction within Primfeed.

These Standards set out actions that could result in restrictions on your access to Primfeed, up to and including account termination.

Primfeed isn't responsible for your illegal downloads. If necessary, you will be handed over to the authorities.

1. Intolerance

The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion or sexual orientation is prohibited. Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame users or groups are similarly and explicitly prohibited.

2. Harassment

Communicating or behaving in an offensively coarse manner, intimidating, threatening, or causes annoyance or alarm is not allowed.

3. Assault

Any act of violence toward a user, including an act of intimidation or bullying, will not be tolerated.

4. Disclosure

Sharing personal information about other users, either directly or indirectly, without their consent - including, but not limited to, gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual orientation and real-world location - is not allowed.

Except for the purpose of reporting abuse or any violation of policies to Primfeed, the remote monitoring, posting or sharing of conversations without a participant’s consent is prohibited.

5. Impersonation

Impersonation of another user, stealing another user’s identity, or claiming recognition for content created by another user are all strictly prohibited. The impersonation of Primfeed, or Primfeed’s team will result in immediate account termination.

6. Posting consent

Taking and using media from a user without the end user's consent may result in an account suspension or termination. However, to protect users' work, specific timelines apply depending on the Maturity Rating of the post:

• You may request the deletion of a General or Moderate content featuring your avatar within three (3) months of its publication.

• You may request the deletion of an Adult or Adult+ content featuring your avatar at any time.

Depending on the post's context and content, we may still delete any General or Moderate content after the three months timeline.

7. Enforcement

In most cases, a user’s first violation of the Community Standards will result in a warning. If there are more violations, the user account may be suspended and ultimately terminated if the behavior persists.

8. Reporting Abuse

Primfeed encourages users to report violations of the Community Standards or any other policies. Primfeed reviews all such reports of abuse and will keep the identity of the reporter strictly confidential.

You cannot abuse the report system and might be sanctioned if you are deemed to.

V. Automation and Third-Party Software

Primfeed must be accessed and used only through its official website and applications, or through tools and integrations provided or expressly authorized by Primfeed.

1. Prohibited practices

Unless expressly authorized by Primfeed, you may not:

• Use bots, scripts, macros, crawlers, scrapers, or any other automated means to access, browse, or interact with Primfeed.

• Automate actions on Primfeed, including creating accounts, posting, commenting, liking, following, reposting, or sending messages.

• Use third-party applications, browser extensions, or services that interact with Primfeed on your behalf, or modify its features.

• Collect, extract, or copy content or user data from Primfeed by automated means, including to build databases or datasets, or to train artificial intelligence models.

• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, security measures, access restrictions, or any other technical protection used by Primfeed.

• Artificially inflate or manipulate engagement or visibility, including likes, followers, views, or placement in the Public Gallery, whether by automated means or through services that sell engagement.

• Place an excessive load on, disrupt, or interfere with Primfeed's infrastructure.

• Develop, distribute, promote, or sell any tool or service designed to do any of the above.

2. Permitted tools

This section does not apply to:

• Accessibility tools, such as screen readers, magnifiers, or translation tools, and password managers, as long as they do not perform actions on Primfeed on your behalf.

• Search engines indexing public pages of Primfeed in accordance with its robots.txt file.

If you wish to develop a tool or integration that interacts with Primfeed, you must first request authorization by contacting PrimfeedSupport Resident.

Any action performed through your account by a third-party tool or service is considered to be performed by you.

3. Enforcement

As an exception to the general Enforcement rules of the Community Standards, any violation of this section may result in the immediate suspension or termination of the accounts involved, without prior warning.

VI. Maturity Rating

All Content must be assigned a rating in accordance with the Maturity Rating below.

Primfeed's Maturity Rating defines four categories:

• General

• Moderate

• Adult

• Adult+

General and Moderate ratings follow the definition used by Linden Lab in Second Life™, i.e.:

• General: content that is suitable for all ages. It may contain mild violence, mild language, and informational or educational content. General content cannot be sexually explicit, violent, or depicts nudity nor show sexually oriented objects such as “sex beds” or poseballs.

• Moderate: non-explicit content that is generally suitable for users over the age of eighteen (18). It may contain some violence, strong language and mildly sexual content so long as it does not promote adult content. Any content that displays nudity for a commercial purpose might be considered Moderate. As soon as the content has the purpose of provoking or promoting sexual excitation, it must be considered whether Adult or Adult+.

Adult and Adult+ ratings are defined by Primfeed as follows:

• Adult: any content that displays nudity, even photo-realistic, expressly sexually themed for the purpose of provoking or promoting sexual excitation; violence and illicit drug use.

• Adult+: any content that represents pornography: any sexual acts including solitary pleasure, and fluids; or intensely violent acts such torture, or other severe bodily harm, whether or not photo-realistic.

Primfeed reserves the right to review individual cases and make determinations based on specific circumstances in accordance with general policies. The page Maturity Rating provides more details on the maturity ratings, with examples for each rating.

Adult and Adult+ content that is not directly Second Life™ related is strictly forbidden, even outside of the Public Gallery.

Adult and Adult+ rated content is only viewable by logged-in users.

VII. Public Gallery

The Public Gallery feed is Primfeed’s main feed. It is dedicated to commercial content and artistic photos from Second Life™. It can contain General, Moderate, Adult, and Adult+ content.

You cannot include artistic photos and commercial content under the same post in the Public Gallery; the complete post will be removed from the Public Gallery.

1. Artistic photos

Artistic photos are defined as photographs that are created with the intention of conveying aesthetic, emotional, or conceptual value. These include, but are not limited to:

1. Landscapes

2. Portraits of avatars

3. Architectural photography

4. Composed scenes with props and decorations

5. Comics

6. Magazine covers

7. Youtube thumbnail for a Second Life™ themed video

8. Art exhibits

Artistic photos exclude images intended for humor, parody, or satire, such as memes.

1.1. Altered or generated content

The Public Gallery feed is reserved for Second Life™ content. Therefore, any media generated or altered using generative AI or “morph” techniques on your artistic media is completely forbidden from the Public Gallery, as Primfeed does not consider this type of content to be from Second Life™.

External software edits are allowed, but the result must showcase Second Life™ content overall.

Commercial content generated or altered using generative AI is allowed in the Public Gallery as long as it is labeled as such. See VII. 2.1. Render and AI labels.

2. Commercial content

Primfeed allows the following types of commercial content in the Public Gallery:

1. Vendor ads to sell your creations

2. Giveaways

3. Storewide sales

4. Bloggers search

5. Hunts

6. Shopping events

   • You can post a flyer for your event once a week;

   • You can post vendor ads from products sold at your event.

7. Work In Progress showcase

8. Rentals or land sales

   • You may create a post for the same rental or land sale once a week.

9. Skill gaming

   • You may create a post for the same place once a week.

10. In-world services

    • You may create a post to promote your service once a week.

If the post contains one of these types of content, you must mark it as commercial content during the post creation.

If you only post a media showcasing a product being sold, but you're not the creator of the product being sold, do not tag your post as commercial content.

2.1. Render and AI labels

You must tag the post according to the following guidelines appropriately:

• If the product being sold, or the avatar wearing the product being sold, was rendered in 3D using external software, outside of Second Life™, you must label the post as “Render”.

• If the product being sold has been generated or altered using generative AI or if your media has been largely generated or altered using generative AI, you must label the post as “AI”.

  • If only the avatar wearing the product has been altered using generative AI, you don't have to label the post as such.

Primfeed's moderation team will enforce the usage of these tags, they are not optional.

3. Duplicates

To prevent spam, you cannot post duplicates in the Public Gallery, whether in different posts or from different accounts.

A duplicate is a media that is identical or nearly identical to another one. This includes, but is not limited to:

• The same picture taken from a slightly different angle or position.

• The same picture in a different color treatment, such as a color version and a black and white version.

• The same picture with minor changes, such as a different crop, filter, or text overlay, or a mirrored version.

Different pictures from the same photo session are not duplicates, as long as each one shows a clearly different composition, pose, or subject.

Posts containing a duplicate of another post's media will be removed from the Public Gallery.

3.1. Duplicates within the same post

Within the same post, pictures may be duplicates of each other, as the Public Gallery shows a post with several pictures only once, through its first picture.

However, if you turn on “Show each picture separately” for a post submitted to the Public Gallery, all of its pictures appear there, so they must not be duplicates of each other. Otherwise, this option will be removed from the post.

VIII. Published and Public Content

As Primfeed is a social media platform dedicated to Second Life™ residents, 90% of the content you publish on Primfeed should be directly related to Second Life™.

1. Profile

Your profile picture and profile banner must be directly Second Life™ related, such as a picture of your avatar, your land, or your creations.

The following are not allowed as a profile picture or profile banner:

• Content generated or altered using generative AI.

• Real-life content.

Drawings related to Second Life™ are allowed, as long as they are not generated or altered using generative AI.

Brands may use their logo as their profile picture.

Your bio section and any other public information on your profile must be directly Second Life™ related. Your profile picture, profile banner, bio section, and any public information on your profile must be under the General rating.

2. Child avatars

Primfeed follows Linden Lab's policy on child avatars and its prohibition of age play in Second Life™.

A child avatar is any avatar that appears to be under the age of 18, whatever age is claimed by its owner. Primfeed assesses this based on the overall appearance and context of the content, such as facial features, body size, clothing or accessories generally associated with children, and text or behavior presenting the avatar as a child. Height alone is not enough to consider an avatar as a child avatar.

Child avatars are allowed on Primfeed, under the following rules:

• Any post featuring a child avatar must be rated General, and every media in that post must be General.

• Content featuring a child avatar must not contain any sexual or sexually suggestive element.

The following is strictly prohibited:

• Any content, caption, tag, comment, or message that sexualizes a child avatar or places it in a sexual or sexually suggestive context (age play).

• Any sexual content presenting an avatar as a minor through text, captions, or context, even if the avatar itself appears adult.

• Sending sexual content to a user presenting as a child avatar, or engaging them in a sexual conversation.

As an exception to the general Enforcement rules of the Community Standards, any violation of these prohibitions will result in the immediate termination of the accounts involved, without prior warning.

3. Albums

If you decide to upload a custom banner for your album, the banner must be under the General rating, regardless of the rating of the content inside the album.

Album titles and descriptions must also be under the General rating.

4. Events

Premium members can post events on Primfeed’s dedicated events page.

An event is any group activity organized by a host, taking place on land owned by the host or a group they are part of. Examples include but are not limited to discussions, group meetings, dances, classes, tours, competitions, and music events.

Each event must be unique, comply with the Community Standards, and have the proper Maturity Rating.

IX. Prohibited Content

Content is anything that you create, share, post or otherwise transmit that another person could see on Primfeed.

Prohibited Content may not be shared, posted or otherwise transmitted through Primfeed under any circumstances.

Prohibited Content includes:

• Content involving illegality, such as piracy, criminal activity, terrorism, child pornography, bestiality/zoophelia, and illegal drug use.

• Content that sexualizes child avatars or presents an avatar as a minor in a sexual context (age play).

• Infringing or unauthorized content, such as content that you did not create or do not have permission to use.

• Cruel or hateful content that could harm, harass, promote or condone violence against, or that is primarily intended to incite hatred of, animals, or individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, nationality, disability, gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity.

• Intensely violent or graphic content that could be construed as primarily intended to be shocking, sensational, or disrespectful.

• Extreme gore content.

• Content that promotes or could be construed as primarily intended to evade limitations on Prohibited Content.

X. Privacy policy

XI. Termination of use

You can terminate your account at any time at your discretion from your account’s settings, under Security.

Primfeed reserves the right to close your account at any time, especially if you do not comply with these Terms of Service.
