Create an event

An event on Primfeed is a listing for something happening in Second Life, a party, a sale, a show, with a name, a description, an in-world location, a start time, and a duration, so other residents can find it and get reminded before it begins.

Creating events is a Primfeed Pro feature. If you're on a free account you can still browse and get notified about other people's events, but you'll need Pro to publish your own.

Before you start

  • You need to be on Primfeed Pro to create an event.

  • If you run a store (a Page) on Primfeed, your events can be created from the store account instead of your personal one. Whichever account you have selected when you create the event becomes its owner.

  • Have your in-world spot ready: you'll need a Second Life map URL (a maps.secondlife.com/... link or a taxi) for the location.

Tip: Want Pro? You can subscribe with online payment or with L$ in-world. See Primfeed Pro.

Create an event

  1. In the left sidebar, open the Events page.

  2. Click Create a new event (the calendar-plus button at the top).

  3. Fill in the form:

    • Name: between 5 and 50 characters.

    • Image: optional. Use a 3:4 (portrait) ratio for the best fit.

    • Description: between 5 and 1024 characters.

    • Event location: the Second Life map URL where the event takes place. It must be a valid SL map link.

    • Maturity Rating: choose General, Moderate, Adult, or Adult+.

    • Start date & time (SLT): must be in the future. Times are entered in SL time (SLT, the US Pacific timezone).

    • Duration: pick how long the event runs from the dropdown (anywhere from 10 minutes up to 12 hours).

  4. Click Create. You'll be taken back to the Events page, where your event now appears.

Tip: All times on Primfeed events use SLT (Second Life Time, the US Pacific zone). Enter your start time in SLT so it lines up with what other residents see, with no timezone math needed on their end.

How your event appears

  • It shows up on the main Events page, in a list ordered by which event starts soonest.

  • Each event card shows the name, the event info, your image (if you added one), and how many residents are participating. While the event is in progress, a red Live pill appears on the card.

  • Residents only see events whose maturity rating matches the ratings they've enabled in their own settings, so set the rating accurately.

  • Your event also appears on your profile's Events tab, and can surface in the Events & Stores explore section.

  • Each event has its own page (with a "← Events listing" link back to the full list).

How residents get reminded

On your event, residents who haven't joined yet see a Get notified button (bell icon). Once they tap it, it becomes Interested, and they'll receive reminders. The toggle is only available before the event starts; once it's live, residents can no longer join.

Reminders are delivered as in-world Second Life messages (not in-app or email). Each interested resident gets two:

  • About a day before the event.

  • Less than an hour before, including the SLURL to your location.
